They require international collaboration, and the European Union (EU) is a key player in fostering such cooperation – shaping policies and driving innovation to tackle these issues collectively. But how do you navigate the complexities that arise in the context of European policymaking? How do you reach effective decision-making with multiple member states and institutions involved? And what are the implications of technological advances for governance on an international scale? You will learn to deal with these and many more questions in the Master’s in European Studies at the University of Twente.

This one-year, English-taught Master’s teaches you all about the design and implementation of European public policy – specifically in the context of digital transformation and technological developments. You will learn to deal with the multifaceted challenges and opportunities within Europe and the global geopolitical landscape, exploring the intra-European context as well as Europe’s global standing in comparison to other major players like the USA, Russia, or China. In doing so, you will combine political, sociological, economic, legal, and technological perspectives.

This double degree programme takes two years and upon successful completion, you will earn two Master’s degrees.
