Catalytic Processes and Materials (CPM)

Welcome to the Catalytic Processes and Materials group (CPM)

The work in our group aims on building a bridge between new discoveries on heterogeneous catalytic reactions and materials on one side and their application in practical processes on the other side. Our expertise in making, structuring and characterization of catalytic materials on micro- and nano-scale are embedded in the local research institute on nano-technology, MESA+. Catalyst testing and evaluation, on the other hand, is our expertise that is closely connected to the domain of process technology.

Catalytic Processes & Materials group (CPM) is a member of the Dutch national research school on catalysis, NIOK, as well as the national research school on process technology, OSPT.

    Research Approach

We connect new discoveries on heterogeneous catalytic reactions and materials to application in practical processes. Our expertise in making, structuring and characterization of catalytic materials on micro- and nanoscale are embedded in the local research institute on nano-technology, MESA+. Catalytic testing, kinetics, multiscale modelling and evaluation of (electro-) catalytic devices, on the other hand, is our expertise that bridges to the realm of process technology

The research done within CPM can be split into four domains:

    Related Research Groups

CPM is one of the six research groups in the Department of Chemical Engineering, within the Faculty Science and Technology. This is highlighted in the collaborations with colleagues in the group Photo-catalytic Fuel Synthesis (PCS) headed by Prof. Mul,  our partners in the Mesoscale Chemical Systems (MCS) group headed by Prof. Gardeniers, the researchers of the Sustainable Process Technology (SPT) group chaired by Prof. Sascha Kersten, our partners in the Inorganic Membranes (IM) group headed by Prof. Arian Nijmeijer, and the Physics of Complex Fluids (PCF) group, chaired by Prof. Frieder Mugele.

    Vacancies

The Catalytic Processes and Materials group regularly has vacancies available. If there are no positions open, but you are interested in a career at the University of Twente, you can check out the UT Careers page.
