For women, with women: increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of the cervical cancer screening program with a participatory technology approach to develop lab-on-a-chip screening in urine (4WWW)

Summary:
Cervical cancer screening prevents up to 92% of deaths, but screening participation is poor. Dutch women with a migration background participate less in screening resulting in up to 1.8 fold increased risk to die from cervical cancer. In the ‘4 women, with women (4WWW)’ project, women with a migration background will co-create with relevant actors as citizen scientists a novel, widely accepted screening method using state of the art new techniques like a lab-on-a-chip analyzing urine. We aim to increase screening participation by 25%, especially in women with a migration background now underrepresented in screening.
