When writing a research proposal for grant programs from funders such as NWO, ZonMw or ERC you are often required or encouraged to include a RDM Costs Estimation. To help you with the costs estimation UT’s Digital Competence Centre has made two checklists to help UT researchers.
- Checklist 1: shows you the potential costs for every phase of the research cycle from material costs to labour costs.
- Checklist 2: gives an overview and indication of the potential costs of RDM services offered by the UT and organizations such as SURF, DANS, 4TU.ResearchData.
RDM Costs can for example be related to temporary storage of the research data, anonymization or transcription of data, or to curation of data before sustainable archiving.
In case of archiving your research data in 4TU.ResearchData the costs for depositing up to 1 TB/yr. will be reimbursed by the UT. At DANS, there are no fixed prices for depositing data.
The checklists are based on the RDM Costs table made by experts from several Dutch universities/ the Landelijk Coördinatiepunt Research Data Management (LCRDM) has made an RDM costs table.
