futures by university innovation fellows
|
Introduction
This card deck is a collection of the tangibilised futures that University Innovation Fellows made during the Responsible Futuring workshop at the UIF Global Meet up in 2024, organised by Hasso Plattner School of Design (d.school) at Stanford University, hosted at DesignLab University of Twente. In this workshop, participants worked on potential futures within the domains Social Justice, Data Privacy, Poverty and equality and Climate change.
We hope that the UIF community will enjoy this card deck and show the results with their fellows at their universities! By putting these cards in the Responsible Futuring toolbox, we aim to inspire others and spark the imagination.
How it works
You may use these illustrations for different purposes.
Below is a suggestion which is inspired by the board game Dixit, that you need to play with at least 3 people.
- Each player gets five cards.
- Player one chooses one card and comes up with a future story within the themes Social Justice, Data Privacy, Poverty and equality and Climate change.
Do not show this card to the other players! - All players lay a card on the table, upside down. Player one does that too, with the chosen card.
- Mix up the three cards, then turn these around.
- Player two and three have to guess which card aligns with the future story that player one came up with.
- Player one gets a point for each player that got it right.
- Repeat steps 1 to 6 with each player.
Please note: Some of the cards already have a description on the back. You may use these as inspiration for your future stories.
Output
