UTDSIDSIEventsDSI Meet Up: AI Literacy and the UT Curricula

DSI Meet Up: AI Literacy and the UT Curricula July edition

This DSI Meet Up will be about AI Literacy, UT's narrative on AI and our curricula.

AI is everywhere! Thus also within most of the UT programs. But how? How much? Adequately? And do prospective students have a clear idea of which way AI is integrated into their curriculum? And when it comes to Life Long Learning: to what extent do we educate ourselves? How are our faculty, our support staff and our local community involved in the latest AI developments?

A few weeks ago, with a group of over 50 AI colleagues, DSI formulated the first outlines of UT's narrative on AI. But when it comes to our daily reality, do we practice what we preach?

Many questions and thus much to discuss and much to share. Will you join us at this informal but informative gathering?

Speakers

dr. M. de Visser (Matthias)
Assistant Professor

Matthias de Visser is a professor at the BMS Faculty currently developing a course for executives on AI; AI voor Managers. This being still under construction, it is planned to offer the first run in Autumn this year.

The course is an extended version of a tutorial on AI that Matthias has taught for a couple of years in UT's Business Administration master course Smart Industry in which students were guided step by step in building a machine learning model in Orange. Orange is a no-code data mining tool which is a good starting point to explore the potential of machine learning in a business setting.
