Expand your knowledge and skills with a double degree.
As a student of the Master’s in Communication Science, you have the opportunity to pursue a second Master’s degree by enrolling in a double degree programme. The Master’s in Communication Science offers two double degree programmes: one in the field Digital Marketing in collaboration with the Master’s in Business Administration and one in the field of Policy, Governance and Communication in collaboration with the Master’s in Public Administration.
As a student of the double degree Digital Marketing you will learn to develop innovative digital marketing strategies and seize emerging technologies and avenues for online promotion. For example, which e-commerce strategies are most effective? How can you make informed decisions using data analytics tools? What tactics can you apply to create ethically and sustainably designed digital content and marketing campaigns?
You will explore the technical and creative aspects of the field. That way, you will build a strong foundation in the ethical and business principles necessary for success in the digital marketing industry. Courses from both Business Administration and Communication Science will be part of your curriculum.
Policy, Governance and Communication This double degree combines policy, governance, and communication. You learn how to deal with issues like crisis management, global policy, and trust in government. During the programme, you explore how democracy and media are changing. And how these two influence each other. You gain practical tools to create strong policies and communication strategies.
This 1.5 year programme ends with one joint master’s thesis. It encourages critical thinking and fresh ideas for the future of governance and public communication. In a time of fast technological change, misinformation, and complex challenges, this degree prepares you to work confidently in the public domain.
Structure and how to apply
These double degrees are 1,5 year programmes (90 EC). Courses from both programmes will be part of your curriculum. You will complete your double degree by writing a joint master’s thesis. If you wish to enrol in a double degree programme, you have to apply separately to each Master’s programme and meet the admission requirements of both. Upon completion, you will obtain two Master’s degrees:
Digital Marketing
- Master of Science in Communication Science
- Master of Science in Business Administration
Policy, Governance and Communication
- Master of Science in Communication Science
- Master of Science in Public Administration
What is a Double Degree?
In a Double Degree programme, you follow two different Master’s programmes simultaneously and write one integrated Master’s thesis that fulfills the requirements of both degrees. Upon successful completion, you will be awarded two separate diplomas.
Because you complete both programmes at the same time, the total study duration is shorter than if you were to pursue them one after the other.
