When you have completed this Master's with the specialisation in Optimisation of Healthcare Processes, you will receive a Master’s degree in Health Sciences. Also, you can title yourself Master of Science (MSc). Your specialisation will be mentioned specifically on your diploma supplement, highlighting your specialised knowledge and skills in the field of optimisation of healthcare processes.

Job opportunities

As a health scientist with expertise in healthcare process optimisation, a wide range of career opportunities lie ahead of you. You will be eligible for work as a project leader implementing new care concepts, a policy adviser in a hospital, or a consultant in the healthcare sector facilitating collaboration between healthcare organisations. Your data-driven approach and in-depth focus on the strategic component of value-based healthcare management will make you stand out on the job market, as your skills are in high demand in the contemporary healthcare sector.

Think, for example, of health insurance companies like Menzis or VGZ, consultancy agencies like Berenschot, Deloitte or KPMG, research and knowledge institutions like Nivel, IKNL, or Acute Zorg Euregio (ROAZ) or even IT developers like Nedap, Philips or Chipsoft. Or what about a career within governmental institutions, dealing with themes like the Social Support Act (‘WMO’ in Dutch)? There are many options open to you!

Start a business

Continue as a researcher: obtain a PhD

Instead of pursuing a professional career right away after completing your Master’s degree, you can opt to follow a PhD programme at Twente Graduate School (TGS). This involves spending four years studying a particular research area in-depth at one of our research institutes. Obtaining your PhD earns you the title of Doctor (Dr).
