SWIP; Student Well-being Improvement Programme update #1

SWIP is the Student Well-being Improvement Programme of the UT, which provides various initiatives and works together with the Student Union and (study) associations. In this news update we inform you about the current well-being initiatives we provide for you and your fellow students.

What can SWIP do for you?

Within SWIP among others the following initiatives for students were developed:

  • GoodHabitz: free on-line courses among others related to well-being i.e. Mindfulness, Oh Yes It’s Stress, Zest for Life and/or Bye-bye Burnout.
  • Workshop Stress Management: extra-curricular workshop offered by CES-SACC
  • Look after your friend training: Students will most likely first contact a friend when they don’t feel okay. But what to do being a friend? This training, developed by the Student Union in consultation with the student psychologists , is offered both to associations and individuals to give a handle to concerned students with information on most common mental health problems and information on referral. An important aspect of the training is to guard your own limits and boundaries in your efforts to support your friend(s).

Are you okay?

If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health issues or stress, please visit Are you okay? website to find information about help you can receive at the UT.  You can join our Student Well-being Canvas Platform for practical tips and advice about how to cope with this feelings in a healthy way. On YouTube you can find interviews with fellow students about mental health issues, something a lot of students struggle with. There is nothing wrong with asking for help.
