Food concept change Appèl catering locations Ravelijn and Technohal

Appèl is working on further developing the food concepts at various locations at the University of Twente (UT). Appèl operates with the FoodCity concept at UT. The FoodCity concept means that each location at UT has a focus area. This FoodCity concept is also used at other universities and colleges in the Netherlands. A requirement within this concept is that at least one location at UT must be completely vegetarian, in order to contribute to UT’s sustainability ambitions. Due to the changing wishes and needs in the field of food and drinks at UT, Appèl is working on further developing the existing concepts. Starting 2 September Appèl will implement the first changes in the food offer at Lemon&Beans in the Technohal building and at the canteen in the Ravelijn building. Please read below to find out what these adjustments will entail.

Lemon & Beans (Technohal)

Currently, the food offer at Lemon&Beans is completely vegetarian. The original concept of Lemon&Beans actually also includes meat and fish products. To ensure the correct implementation of this concept, these products have been reintroduced to the assortment.

Canteen Ravelijn

The food offer in the canteen in the Ravelijn will be completely vegetarian. The assortment will include: hummus sandwiches, omelets, caprese, jackfruit, vegan chicken satay, vegetarian croquettes, cheese rolls, etc. Employees, students, and guests in the Ravelijn who still want to consume meat or fish products can use the catering locations in the Waaier, Technohal, and Langezijds buildings.

What about the other catering locations?

These two locations are the first to ensure the correct implementation of the food concepts, the other catering locations of Appèl will follow later this year/early 2025.
