Valerie Jones passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2022.
In 1996 Valerie, Val, joined the University of Twente, first at CTIT, later at Computer Science and from 2007 to 2017 she was affiliated with the Biomedical Signals and Systems department. As of 2017, Valerie has retired. In her position as senior researcher, she made important contributions to the BMT educational programme on healthcare technology and telemedicine methods.
Val has been a driving force in research into Body Area Networks for remote patient monitoring, and she has been instrumental in initiating successful European and National projects. We will always remember Val as a very motivated, sometimes chaotic, and always friendly and accessible colleague with a wide range of interests. We are deeply sad by her decision to leave this life after a difficult time of health complications.
We wish her friend Boris and family a lot of strength in coping with this great loss.
