Goal
The main purpose of this initiative is to create a laboratory that could provide equipment for all research groups within the EEMCS faculty. To achieve this the lab contains a set of delicate equipment (in the C2531 room) and a set of advance general equipment (in the C2638 room). The second room can also be used for a Westzaal overflow.
In addition, the lab aims to provide a platform for exchange of disciplines, technics, and knowledge along different research groups. We provide the equipment and the basic training for research to try new technics in their respective fields.
Intended users
The SIL (System Integration Lab) lab is intended for researchers, technicians and PhD students from the research groups of the EEMCS faculty. Although the focus of the lab is to allow cross-disciplinary research for the research groups, the lab can be used by students (Master’s and Bachelor’s) and student teams.
All users of the lab need to fill in a safety form, there is a clear separation between the main users of the lab and students. Students must fill out a different form with their supervisor's signature for access.
All users must go through an introductory workshop for the machine they want to use. To use the lab, you need to book the equipment through the official booking system of the SIL, otherwise, you will not be allowed to use the machine.
Content of the lab
The lab has a wide variety of equipment that targets different techniques and manufacturing processes. The machine currently in use in the C2531 room are:
- Instrumentation Device: MokuPro
- Heat & Soldering stations: JBC JTSE-A & JBC DME 4-tools
- Reflow oven: eC-reflow-mate-V4
- Laser Microscope: Keyence VHX-7000
