He did it: Stephan Bosch defended on September 7 his PhD thesis with the title “Pushing the limits of inertial motion sensing”!
A remarkable work, based on many years of thorough research and development. The thesis explores how to capture and digitize human and animal motion with miniature IMU motion-sensing devices and fulfill a wide range of application requirements despite resource constraints related to sensor limitations and wireless communication. This work clearly shows that Stephan has become the expert on inertial sensing, and has shown that limitations of hardware can be solved with some smart algorithms.
