PS at IEEE PerCom 2024

PS successfully participated in and contributed to the prestigious IEEE PerCom 2024 held on March 11-15, in Biarritz, France. We presented 3 papers in this year's PerCom workshops.

Our research has been accepted in this prestigious conference. Deepak Yeleshetty, Hamed Darbandi and Mario Boot presented their papers in three interesting workshops - PerVehicle, TelMed, and EmotionAware, respectively.

Deepak presented about predicting turn maneuvers using bicycle-mounted motion sensors.

Huang, "Predicting Turn Maneuvers of Cyclists Using Bicycle-Mounted IMU with CNN-LSTM," 2024 IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications Workshops and other Affiliated Events (PerCom Workshops), Biarritz, France, 2024, pp. 587-592, doi: 10.1109/PerComWorkshops59983.2024.10502681.

Hamed presented about estimating lactate content in horses using wearable motion sensors to measure their fatigue.

H. Darbandi, C. Munsters and P. Havinga, "Non-Invasive Lactate Estimation Using Wearable Sensors for Remote Fatigue Assessment in Horses," 2024 IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications Workshops and other Affiliated Events (PerCom Workshops), Biarritz, France, 2024, pp. 352-357, doi: 10.1109/PerComWorkshops59983.2024.10503247.

Mario presented about measuring and evaluating simultaneous psychological flow during cycling in pairs of elderly cyclists.

M. Boot, L. Kahnt, D. Postma, M. B. Ulak, K. Geurs and P. Havinga, "Are We in Flow? Measuring and Supporting Simultaneous Flow in Duos of Elderly Cyclists," 2024 IEEE International Conference on Pervasive Computing and Communications Workshops and other Affiliated Events (PerCom Workshops), Biarritz, France, 2024, pp. 255-260, doi: 10.1109/PerComWorkshops59983.2024.10503119.

All three papers were well-presented and resulted in fruitful discussions about the methods and future work.

Overall, the conference provided a great platform to discuss, exchange ideas, and engage in potential collaborations with fellow researchers around the world. We look forward to having more such experiences. Congratulations to everyone!
