On Tuesday, 19 July, the current employee portal will be shut down. All news items/events and web apps from the employee portal can thereafter only be accessed via the Internal Service Portal. From that date, the Service Portal will be the site where you can find your relevant information all in one place.
Based on feedback interviews and signals from within the organisation, it emerged that there are too many online sources of information, and colleagues often didn’t know where to go to access information. In order to solve this problem, the initiative has been taken of collecting all the information for employees in one environment: the Internal Service Portal.
Everything in one online environment
The following type of information will be combined in the Service Portal:
- The separate websites of the service departments (Human Resources, Marketing & Communication, Campus & Facility Management, Library/IT services/archive etc.) will be phased out between 2020 and 2023. The information will be compressed from 30,000 into 3,000 pages, and offered on the Service Portal in a service catalogue.
- Links to web applications
- News and events for staff will be migrated to the Service Portal. This will also change the lay-out of the mailings that you regularly receive.
What is expected of you?
Save your bookmarks before 19 July!
Do you have any bookmarks on the current website employees.utwente.nl in the section on the left? Either favourite applications (section 1 in the screenshot below) or your personal bookmarks (section 2 in the screnshot below)? Please be aware that these will be erased. You can save the bookmarks on your computer or in your browser before 19 July. In the Service Portal you can also bookmark pages and web applications. Use the Service Portal after 19 July
After the employee portal has been phased out, you will only use the Service Portal. Access the Service Portal by using the short link utwente.nl/serviceportal or clicking the link on the utwente.nl homepage in the internal quicklink section:
Set your subscriptions again after 19 July
Topics you follow
Your additional subscriptions (everything except your own faculty/service department and your own building) will be erased and you have to sign up for them again in the new system. Subscription topics will change during the transformation. We kindly request that you set the subscriptions you want again once the new system has been brought online. We will place a reminder for that in this news section and therefore also in the employee mail update you receive regularly.
language and mailing frequency preference
Mailings are available in two languages, with English set as the default. If you want to receive emails in Dutch, you can set this on your profile after 19 July when the new system has been launched. The mailing frequency can also be changed by users.
