Objectives:

Areas of the research:

1. Functionally Graded Materials

Local control of the two main factors governing material properties: chemical composition and thermal cycles.

2. WAAM Process development

Deposition rate to 5Kg/hr per system used, integrate LNG cooling and NDT techniques to a single, flexible manufacturing system.

3. Life cycle assessment

challenging applications will demonstrate the lifecycle benefits of WAAM multi-material devices and in-line process control.
