1. Rapid Prototyping Lab
AMSPES has access to state of the art 3D-printing laboratory of the UT. Powder bed fusion technologies as well as low-cost fused deposition modeling technologies are available. Also, important post-processing techniques, mechanical, powder cleaning, thermal, etc., are readily available.
2. Mechanical Testing Laboratory
AMSPES has access to a well-equipped laboratory for quality inspection and damage characterization, including a preparation lab in order to prepare specimens for microscopy. Also, access to state-of-the-art mechanical characterization techniques, such as tensile and torsion testers, and energy impact and fatigue.
3. Thermo-fluid and Environmental Testing Laboratory
AMSPES has access to a conditioned laboratory with a number of experimental setups to investigate single-phase and multi-phase heat transfer. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) for thermal characterization. Fluid material interaction, e.g. contact angle and wetting, is characterized using a sessile drop tester.
4. Fraunhofer Innovation Platform
AMSPES has access to the facilities at Fraunhofer Innovation Platform. The Fraunhofer Innovation Platform for Advanced Manufacturing at the University of Twente (FIP-AM@UT) is an innovation center that helps manufacturers turn ambitious dreams into reality. Through applied research, technical consulting, and project development, they are helping to develop the technical capabilities and competencies needed to create the future of our industry.
