Finding your Honours course information
The current coordinators of the tracks can be found on the track-specific pages for the Bachelor and Master. For each track, the courses (with code or OSIRIS reference) are listed on the dedicated page, with the current teachers of each course connected on OSIRIS. If you have any trouble finding the correct course information for your Honours track, please send an email to your teacher or the Honours Office.
Registering Honours courses on OSIRIS
After being admitted into the Honours programme, you will be automatically enrolled for the first course of your Honours programme by the Honours Office. However, for all subsequent Honours courses, you must register yourself on OSIRIS by the deadline (see the regular OSIRIS Student procedures and deadlines here). If you forget to register, the Honours Office can manually add you to the correct Honours course through the form provided here.
Who to contact for questions?
- Course teacher: for questions regarding the course, learning activities, curriculum and planning, and assessment. Your teacher is also your first point of contact for missing lectures due to illness or other reasons. You can find your teacher and their contacts through OSIRIS Student.
- Track coordinator: for questions regarding the track structure, possibilities for an Honours Individual Project for the track (HIP, e.g. when going abroad) or other things affecting your Honours programme. The coordinators of the tracks can be found on the track-specific pages for the Bachelor and Master
- Honours Office: for general information about the Honours programme; and questions regarding the selection and admission, course registration, Bachelor Plenary Sessions, grade registration and graduation, information on the Honours Individual Project (HIP, when going abroad), and all other general questions (including referrals for questions). The Honours Office consists of a team of junior managers, currently studying at the University of Twente. The Honours Office can best be reached by email (honours@utwente.nl); the office location of the Honours Office is Technohal 1334 D.
- Honours Programme Director: for personal questions (as confidant) or Honours study-related questions. You can find the People Page of dr. Nelleke van Adrichem, including her contact details, here.
- Honours Exam Committee (HExC): to file requests for exceptions to the Honours educational regulations or to address disputes in examination; please find the HExC Rules and Regulations here. The HExC can be contacted by email: exam-committee-honours@utwente.nl.
- Honours Educational Quality Committee (HEQC): for any questions regarding the evaluation (surveys and panels) of the Honours education. You can reach the HEQC by email: qa-honours@utwente.nl.
- Honours Association Ockham (H.V. Ockham): for any questions regarding the community, joining Ockham committees and attending activities. You can contact the Board of H.V. Ockham by email: board@hvockham.nl.
Educational Regulations and Honours Exam Committee
You can find the Educational Regulations for your cohort, as well as a 'who is who' at Honours and information for contacting the Honours Exam Committee on the organisation page.
The Honours Educational Quality Committee
The Honours Educational Quality Committee (HEQC) consists of both student and teacher members, who work together to evaluate the quality of the bachelor and master honours programmes. This is done by sending out surveys to Honours students after every module, as well as organising Teacher Panel Meetings (TPMs) where students and teachers can have open discussions about their programmes and exchange ideas and feedback. The HEQC contacts you to participate both in the surveys and to take part in the TPMs.
The Honours Individual Project: supplementing your Bachelor Honours programme while abroad
For students within the Bachelor Honours programme, the tracks of Philosophy, Mathematics and Shaping the Future allow students to go abroad (or become otherwise unable to join the in-person Honours sessions) while still continuing their Honours programme. Students abroad follow then the Honours Individual Project (HIP) course, which is a tailored course of 10 ECTS (the equivalent of two missing Honours courses/one semester abroad; a 5 ECTS version of the HIP is in some cases also possible). Students who want to follow the HIP should fill in this form to inform the Honours Office of their desire to start a HIP. Please note that, as the HIP requires some preparation for the student and supervisor, you should fill in this form at least 3 months before the start of your HIP.
Quitting the Honours programme
You can quit the Honours programme at any time! To quit the programme, please make sure to (1) inform your coordinator (see our track page) of your disenrollment and (2) fill out this form to conclude your programme.
When quitting the programme before completion, you will not receive an Honours Certificate or Honours Pin. All completed Honours courses will still be put on your diploma supplement, showing the amount of credits that you have achieved within the programme.
