    • Skills development for engineering education (14:00-15:00h)

At the CSE programme, we value and highlight the development of our students’ skills: essential skills like Critical thinking, Quantitative Literacy, Information Literacy, Creative Thinking, Communication, and Teamwork, are key for any successful engineering vocation. In this workshop we will show you how we teach and assess essential skills, and how we make use of a reflection tool and rubrics to focus students’ learning.

Location: at the Learning & Teaching Lab. A maximum of 40 participants can sign up.

    • Challenge-based learning (CBL) in BMS education (15:00-16:30h)

How to design, implement and assess CBL in minor and master courses? We all know (some of) the basics of CBL by now. However, designing a module or course based on CBL design principles while considering constructive alignment and assessment is more difficult. This is why we will discuss in this session questions such as what you need to prepare for a CBL course/module. How to combine content and process? What do you need to know to teach such a course? What could go wrong?, and how to assess CBL in courses/modules?

At the Learning & Teaching Lab. A maximum of 30 participants can sign up.

  • Tuesday 11 June
    • ELO Creation Session, hosted by ECIU University (11:00-12:30h)

If you are a teacher or support staff working with CBL-projects, come and join this session! Together with your colleagues you will be creating ECIU Educational Learning Opportunities (ELOs). These educational modules will be related to a range of topics from different fields and will tie in with the ECIU´s main educational innovation models: Challenge-Based Learning (CBL) and MicroModules (MM). You will be guided through this process in several steps by our expert in this field.

Location: at Langezijds LA2409. A maximum of 40 participants can sign up.

    • Workshop: Video & podcast studio (09:00-10:30 & 11:00-12:30h)

    • Teachers Community meeting + Launch challenge-up tool (12:30-13:30h)

This time the theme for the CEE/4TU Teaching Community will be ‘’How to move forward with CBL’’. After a short introduction, there will be theme tables where information can be obtained and discussed with experts on various topics within CBL. Topics include testing and assessment within CBL, support, stakeholders, CBL and skills in Masters CEM, evaluation and embedding in programme.
At the end the ‘’Challenge up tool’’ will be presented which can be helpful for teachers using CBL.

Location: at the Learning & Teaching Lab. A maximum of 50 participants can sign up.

    • Workshop: GROOW Design Thinking (14:00-17:00h)

Do you want to address complex challenges through design-oriented research, enhancing professional skills like analytical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and reflective thinking, and effectively visualize the results? By thinking and acting as a designer, you learn to turn a challenge into solutions with the right knowledge, skills and attitude. By working with GROOW you get a grip on the process and activate ownership and entrepreneurship. By working with GROOW you can follow the development and get a grip on the process. Specially within projects and CBL. Everyone who is interested in project based, problem based ,design based or challenge based learning can join the workshop.

Location: at the Learning & Teaching Lab. A maximum of 30 participants can sign up.

    • Life Long Learning Café (16:00-17:00h)

Since 2021, the faculties, institutes, and services at the University of Twente (UT) have been enhancing and expanding their Lifelong Learning (LLL) offerings and investing in new, flexible programs. Organizing LLL activities requires significant preparation, including the development of university information systems for LLL, defining new faculty roles, outlining business cases, designing educational structures, and managing quality assurance and certification.
In 2023, we initiated an LLL Café to foster networking among those involved or interested in LLL. The LLL Café, held every six weeks at the end of the day, is an informal gathering that encourages the exchange of best practices and ideas without formal presentations. Instead, it features discussion tables where colleagues share their experiences and engage in short discussions on LLL topics. Updates from the LLL program team are shared, with a focus on networking and knowledge sharing across faculties and services. We hope to see you at the LLL Café!

Location: at The Gallery - Grand Cafe. A maximum of 30 participants can sign up.

  • Wednesday 12 June
