Improved water purification is one of the measures that are necessary to prevent drink water shortages in the future. As one of the dryer regions of the Netherlands, this holds especially for Twente. The Membrane Science and Technology cluster has built a pilot setup to purify water on the campus for irrigation. RTV Oost interviewed Wiebe de Vos about the Waterlab and how it can contribute to water security. His research is focused on advanced coatings to improve the performance of membranes.
