Mariel Cano-Jorge wins first poster prize at MPS Summit

University of Twente's Mariel Cano-Jorge has won the first posterprize at the MPS World Summit in Berlin.

Mariel is PhD-student at Applied Stem Cell Technologies group and won the contest with her presentation on mini-hearts, where she showed her research on engineering a human cardiac chamber recapitulation the pump function of the heart.

The MPS World Summit, organized by the Johns Hopkins Center for Alternatives to Animal Testing (CAAT) and EUROoCS, with the support of more than forty organizations, is proud to present the Microphysiological Systems World Summit.

The 2023 meeting began on Monday, June 26, 2023 with satellite events, networking opportunities, and the start of a week of scientific programmes, concluding on 30 June. Once again featured an educational workshop was featured, as well for those who are interested in hands-on training in the newest MPS technology. The scientific sessions included varying formats: workshops, roundtables, and scientific symposia.
