The project is targeting catalytic strategies for CO2-based production routes of cyclic carbonates, and is an EU funded project organized and initiated by TNO-The Netherlands.
The focus of the research in the PCS group is on evaluation of high risk, high reward possibilities for CO2-based production routes of feedstock (ethene and ethene oxide) for the synthesis process of cyclic carbonates. Technologies that will be evaluated include electrocatalysis and photocatalysis.
