The 2014 Universities Selection Guide praises UT engineering and technology programmes

"On average, Twente is the strongest player in this specialty, especially thanks to Civil Engineering and Advanced Technology," according to the Selection Guide. Top programmes of the University of Twente are: Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, Technical Medicine and Advanced Technology. The following programmes are also best in their category: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business & IT and Civil Engineering.

Technical Physicians of the UT recognised as medical professial group

With the inclusion in Article 36a of the Dutch Individual Health Care Professions Act, the government and the medical professial group confirm their faith in the skills of our Technical Physicians. Technical Medicine at the University of Twente is the only technical medical programme in the world in which students can obtain a qualification to treat patients independently.

Sirius positive about Excellentie@UT
The Sirius Programme for excellence in higher education has positively assessed the excellence proposal of the University of Twente. This is a recognition of the existing excellence programmes, including University College ATLAS. Moreover, it is a recognition for the additional programmes that have recently been developed for the Bachelor's and Master's programmes. In short, UT students are provided with an attractive package of excellence initiatives.

Positive assessment of quality assurance of education

Over the past two months, the UT has been visited by a review panel within the context of the Institutional Audit of Quality Assurance. The audit committee, an independent panel under the auspices of the NVAO, the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders, has delivered the opinion that the UT meets all standards of the institutional audit and is in control when it comes to quality assurance of its education. In early January 2014, the committee will offer its advisory report to the NVAO management board, after which the NVAO will probably make a decision by the end of January.

Prof. Ed Brinksma, vice-chancellor, is pleased about the successes. “Because of everyone's major efforts, enthusiasm and commitment, we have achieved these fantastic results when it comes to our education.”
