Project Oral History UT

Our department Archive started the Oral History UT project in April 2023. For this project about twenty former (Technical University of Twente) students, from the early period (1964-1972), were interviewed.

Project participants

Marjan Beijering has been appointed as project leader, who has a lot of experience in carrying out oral history projects. She started working together with a group of enthusiastic former employees of GEWIS, Martin Bosker of the LISA Video Team and employees of Archive. Dr. Arjan van Hessen (EEMCS) provides support with his knowledge of the technology used for the transcription of interviews. Finally, the Twente University Fund Foundation finances the project.

UT community Project

During the Dies lunch in May 2023, chairman Miriam Luizink symbolically presented a check for 60,000 euros to rector Tom Veldkamp and vice-chairman Machteld Roos. The UT is working on its history and heritage and the University Fund wanted to support this. A real UT community project!
