Do you believe you already possess the skills covered in one of the mandatory TGS courses?
If so, you can request an exemption in consultation with your supervisor. To apply, your supervisor will need to email exemptions-tgs@utwente.nl, providing a brief explanation of why you believe you have already acquired these skills at a PhD level. Be sure to include relevant supporting materials, such as proof of a conference presentation or links to published papers. You should ask for an exemption as early on in your PhD trajectory as possible, but in any case before your qualifier.
Please note that exemptions are granted at the discretion of TGS, and it is not possible to request exemptions for the following courses: Academic Integrity, Data Management, and Introductory Workshop.
Tip: If your supervisor is always busy, consider drafting the email for them, so they can easily review and send it.
