Knowledge Safety: taking care of what we share

Knowledge is one of the University of Twente’s most valuable assets. As stated in our Shaping2030 strategy, it is our mission to be the ultimate People First university and we are committed to enabling innovative academic research, education and knowledge transfer. International collaboration is essential in this.

Knowledge Safety Team

At the University of Twente, several people within various departments work on knowledge safety and export control in the Knowledge Safety Team (KST). For information on the KST and contact information, you can visit the Knowledge Safety Team contact page

  • What can we do for you?

    As KST, we can support you in various ways regarding knowledge safety and export control matters. When should you contact us? For example, when:

    • You are recruiting staff and have applications from Iran, Syria or North-Korea, Russia, or China.
    • You are planning to visit one or more companies/knowledge institutes/research centers/lab facilities in countries that have an arms embargo.
    • You are planning to receive one or more visitors, researchers, students, companies, from countries with an arms embargo for example for exchange visits, training or workshops, seminars.
    • You are planning to set up a cooperation agreement (NDA, MoU, LoI, contract, other) with an institute in another country outside the EU.
    • You are planning to set up shared facilities or attract investments from an institute/company outside the EU..
