1. Negotiation Project Twente
The Negotiation Project Twente (NPT) offers a platform that educates students and industry professionals on the principles of negotiation. Each year, from October to July, participants receive weekly training sessions designed to enhance their negotiation skills. These sessions prepare students to compete in international competitions like The Negotiation Challenge (TNC), the Warsaw Negotiation Round (WNR), and the Global Negotiation Conference (GNC), where NPT students have consistently excelled. If you’re looking to learn more about negotiation, check out our story on it!
2. Novel-T
Located in the University’s Gallery building, Novel-T supports the growth of start-ups. As a start-up consultancy, Novel-T guides students and teams in advancing their business ideas, providing access to capital, market insights, and talent. With connections to the UT Challenge, Novel-T ensures start-ups have high-quality resources from the outset, propelling them towards success.
3. University Innovation Fellows
The University Innovation Fellows (UIF) programme collaborates with Stanford’s d.school, a renowned design thinking institute. UIF trains students to make impactful changes at the University of Twente. Annually, around seven or eight students are selected to become fellows, undergoing a six to seven-week program on design thinking. The projects initiated by UIF fellows are visible across campus – for example, the sleeping pod in the library is a UIF idea!
4. ECIU
The European Consortium of Innovative Universities (ECIU) aims to transform higher education in Europe. Unlike Erasmus+, which focuses on mobility, the ECIU seeks to establish a unified European university. Students can participate in the mobility programme, study at one of ECIU’s partner universities, and engage in challenge-based learning through micromodules, fostering a collaborative and innovative educational experience.
5. Honours Programme
The University of Twente's Honours Programme is designed for ambitious students, offering five tracks: Philosophy, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship, Process of Change and Shaping the Future. Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays after school hours, allowing students to connect with fellow Honours participants. This tight-knit community provides a supportive environment where students can explore interesting topics beyond their main studies, making learning both fun and intellectually stimulating.
