Thevin Weerakoon (B-AT)

To Whom it may Concern,

I am Thevin Weerakoon, an international student from Sri Lanka, and I am excited to announce my candidacy for membership in the faculty council S&T. My journey from Sri Lanka to the Netherlands and studying at this university has taught me the importance of diversity and the prosperity it brings along. I believe that our technical community bloom when we acknowledge different perspectives and ideas.

In this modern world, our university is a hotspot of cultures, skills, and viewpoints. By improving an inclusive environment in the university, where everyone feels acknowledged, we can focus on innovation and achieve great success. My experiences have shown me that diverse teams are not only more creative but also more effective in solving complex problems due to different perspectives of each other.

This experience leads me to believe that, through proper effort, I can help the council prioritize inclusivity and collaboration. Not only that, I am eager to support initiatives that assist and help international students and promote cultural exchange, which we would greatly benefit from in our faculty. These efforts will enhance our overall learning environment. I am motivated to make this a reality, creating a community where every student has the opportunity to contribute and succeed in our faculty as well as the university.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Thevin Weerakoon.
