INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH: HOW TO GET STARTED

In TeamScience@UT, we recognize that big challenges for a sustainable future can only be solved through interdisciplinary teams. At the same time, young academics usually do not have the extensive network to foster such collaborations. The Young Academy at the University of Twente (YA@UT) aims to change this!

YA@UT will organize a series of lunch meetings for early career academics in 2022-2023. In our first meeting “Interdisciplinarity: how to get started” on 05-10-2022 in U-Park Hotel room C2two experienced UT researchers, Bojana Rosic and Wilfred van der Wiel, will share some tips and experiences on how they first became successful in interdisciplinary research. What are the pitfalls that you should avoid? And how do you bridge the gap between approaches in two or more scientific fields? There will be plenty of time to ask your own questions as well.

As an additional benefit, you can get to know other young UT scientists informally, strengthen your network, and maybe even meet some future collaborators!

Are you interested in meeting young researchers from other faculties? And do you want to learn how to start interdisciplinary collaborations, while avoiding common pitfalls? Then register for the first Team Science @UT lunch meeting!
