Making meaning from life events is important as obtaining a higher level of meaning is related to having more agency, more emotional stability and less distress. This in turn can improve wellbeing.
Visual stimuli can facilitate the remembering or the expression of personal stories, and further enhance meaning-making. Moreover, visual storytelling techniques are increasingly improving thanks to the development of technology, ranging from VR to generative AI. However, their use in the healthcare is still quite new and therefore worth exploring.
In this assignment you examine the potential of generative AI to design customized nature environments (images) and assess how they influence emotions, social connectedness and meaning-making. You work with easy-to-use and free software, that can also be suitable for e.g. mental health professionals. You contribute to an ongoing research project, but can craft your own research question within this project.
