Masterclasses are deepening and broadening programs that offer you an extra challenge in a subject of your choice. It gives you the opportunity to further develop yourself over a few weeks together with peers.

What can you expect? 

  • Program content

    Data-driven business growth refers to the strategic use of data to enhance the growth and success of a business. In today's digital age, data has become increasingly valuable, and companies that effectively analyze and utilize data can gain a competitive edge. How can companies use this data to grow from a startup to a multinational?

    This masterclass is organized in collaboration with 'Just Eat Takeaway'. You will learn about the way data can be used in companies. During this masterclass you will work in a group on a case study in which you will learn the basic principles of the databases and how to implement them in a company. Together with your fellow pupils you will learn how to implement scenario-based thinking to compare a start-up to a multinational. In the last session you will visit Just Eat Takeaway in Enschede and present the results of your case study.

  • Required subjects/profile

    There are no required subjects to follow this masterclass.  

    • A related school subject is economy.
    • E&M is a related profile. 

    This masterclass is in English.

  • After following this masterclass..
    • You can define how a company grows from a start-up to a multinational;
    • You can explain what the differences in data between the businesses in different phases are;  
    • You can recognize what the biggest differences in various phases when growing towards a multinational business are;
    • You can set up a strategy, derived from a data set, to expand your business.

Since the Science Labs take place during school hours and the invoice for participation is sent to your school, it is important to inform a contact person (such as your mentor) about your participation. We will send a confirmation of your registration to this contact person. If you have any questions, please contact us at sciencelabs-pre-u@utwente.nl.

Photos and/or videos may be taken during this activity. If you do not wish to participate, you can inform the photographer/cameraman on site. The photos and videos will be used exclusively for Pre-U and UT promotional purposes.
